The best time to visit Beijing is in the spring and fall.
Visiting outside of the summer months allows you to escape the Beijing summer heat and humidity, when temperatures can be upwards of 85 degrees F (30 degrees C). The summer also experiences the most rainfall, so visiting during other times of the year will give you a better chance of sun.
Visiting Beijing outside of the winter season allows you to escape the extreme cold. From December to March, temperatures in Beijing can drop below 20 degrees F (-5 degrees C) and daylight hours are short, impeding sightseeing time.
This means that spring and fall are the best time to visit Beijing. From April to mid-May and mid-September to late October, temperatures in Beijing are moderate and precipitation and humidity are relatively low.
